Summary of the previous episode: Julius Caesar was nearly killed by Pharaoh's Egyptian soldiers, under the command of Arsinoe, a rebellious sister of Ptolemy XIII, in the Palace of Alexandria. After managing to escape, Caesar took refuge in the Port of Alexandria with Roman galleys.
To teach Pharaoh a lesson, he set fire to the Port as he left. The fire quickly spread from building to building throughout the city.
Shortly after, a Roman fleet, which had been waiting off the coast, appeared and landed on the beaches around Alexandria. Immediately, the legionaries aboard encircled the city and laid siege to it: No one was allowed to enter or leave.
The Egyptian General Achillas, who managed to escape from Alexandria before the siege of the city, joined an Egyptian relief army. However, Cleopatra informed Julius Caesar of the arrival of this relief army, as well as an Egyptian fleet sailing up the Nile.
Julius Caesar took command of one of his legions and confronted General Achillas and his army, winning the Battle of the Desert Gate thanks to Roman warfare. Worse still, General Achillas was unable to escape and was captured and brought before Caesar. Caesar intended to send a message with the captured Egyptian general…
The only hope for Pharaoh was the Egyptian fleet sailing up the Nile…
