 This story is inspired by real events that took place 

in the struggle between Julius Caesar and Pompey, 

as well as Caesar's encounter with Cleopatra.

PART 4 : Ptolemy's Flight

Summary of the previous part: General Achillas' relief army and the Egyptian fleet have been defeated. 

 

Arsinoe, who had secured the release of the Egyptian General Achillas after he was captured by the Romans, kills him. 

 

 Ptolemy XIII learns that Caesar's army has entered the city and is now heading towards his palace. His sister Arsinoe advises him to flee by boat and return at the head of a powerful army. He does so immediately.

 

  Cleopatra, having overheard all of Arsinoe's advice, orders her confidante Amukis to inform Julius Caesar that Ptolemy XIII is fleeing by sea.
