- SEASON 1 -

Time period: The year is 52 BC.

Proconsul Julius Caesar attempted to conquer Gaul by taking advantage of the disunity among the various peoples that made up Gaul.

One Gaul, however, attempted to unite the Gallic leaders around him: a certain Vercingetorix.

He succeeded in convincing many leaders to trust him and practiced the Scorched Earth technique, burning crops, Gallic villages, and Gallic cities so that Caesar's Legions would starve and have no slaves or loot to take back and return to Italy.

SEASON 2: Caesar's Wrath

Time period: Late 52 to early 51 BCE, Cleopatra VII, then aged around eighteen, was associated with the power of her father Ptolemy XII. A few months later, her father died and left a detailed will: upon his death, he designated Cleopatra and her younger brother, Ptolemy XIII, about ten years older, as his successors.

She would be married to him, as according to Ptolemaic custom, she could not reign alone. Her first three years of reign were difficult due to economic difficulties: famine from 50 to 48 BC, insufficient flooding of the Nile, and a political struggle between the eunuch Pothinus and the Egyptian general Achillas, who sought to set the siblings against each other.
