Summary of the previous part: While the Romans were executing a maneuver called the "pincer", the Egyptians took advantage of the situation to launch their chariots. 

They rammed an entire line of Romans, but their primary objective was to eliminate the Roman command staff, starting with Julius Caesar. 

Three of the Egyptian war chariots managed to break through the Roman defenses, and one of them successfully fired an arrow at Julius Caesar. 

 The arrow narrowly missed his head. 

To counter this attack, the Roman cavalry managed to block the chariots and kill their charioteers and archers.
