Summary of the previous part: Queen Cleopatra's emissary was kidnapped by a horde of Gauls who killed the entire escort, except for the emissary's courtesan, so she could tell the Romans they wanted a ransom in gold for her freedom…
The man in black who had met with the Gauls was furious. He had demanded, in exchange for gold coins, that Cleopatra's emissary be killed, not kidnapped.
The Gallic leader, DAGOMARUS, refused to accept this and killed the man in black and the two men who were with him.
Meanwhile, Julius Caesar personally went to the scene of the kidnapping when he learned it was DAGOMARUS and sent out scouts to track down the Gallic ransom-takers…
