 This story is inspired by real events that took place 

in the struggle between Julius Caesar and Pompey, 

as well as Caesar's encounter with Cleopatra.

Part 3: EVERYONE FOR THEMSELVES !!!

Summary of the previous part: Julius Caesar has imprisoned the young Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII in his palace in Alexandria. 

 

 Caesar wants him to rule Egypt with his sister Cleopatra, who is also his wife and co-ruler with him, as their late father had decreed. But Ptolemy XIII refuses. Caesar has given him a month to reconsider. 

 

A month has now passed since Ptolemy's imprisonment in the throne room when Julius Caesar returns to Alexandria. He learns that Ptolemy is furious about the situation. Caesar is certain he will break.

Meanwhile, Arsinoe, Ptolemy's sister, has managed to meet with him by disguising herself as a servant during his confinement. She informs him that he will be freed that very evening thanks to an army raised by his minister Pothin and the Egyptian general Achillas.

And indeed, Ptolemy is freed that very evening.

 

  Arsinoe orders the Egyptian officers, as she leaves the Palace with her brother, to kill all the Romans inside and to behead Julius Caesar, placing his head on a spear...
