Summary of the previous part: Proconsul Julius CAESAR decided to send his aide-de-camp to deliver a message directly to the Egyptian General ACHILLAS.

  To this end, four Roman galleys and a transport ship have just left Gaul and are sailing towards Egypt. 

However, Julius CAESAR informed ROME of the dispatch of his commander, Paulus FORTICUS, as Proconsul POMPEY was in charge of Egyptian affairs.
