- Episode 3: THE FALL OF ALESIA -

 

This story is inspired by historical events that took place during the Gallic Wars between Julius Caesar and the leader of the Gallic Tribal Alliance, Vercingetorix.

Part 9 : THE REQUEST FOR CLEMENCY

Summary of the previous part: The situation is very difficult in the Oppidum of Alesia.  

 

There is very little food, and Vercingetorix doesn't know if the Gallic leaders outside know that Alesia is under siege. 

 

He decides to send two messengers to cross the Roman lines. 

 

One of them manages to get through, but the second is taken prisoner. 

 

He is tortured and confesses after three days that Alesia is short of food and water and that he and his companion were tasked with warning the Gallic leaders so they can send a Gallic Rescue army...
