This story is inspired by historical events that took place during the Gallic Wars between Julius Caesar and the leader of the Gallic Tribal Alliance, Vercingetorix.

Part 13 : THE GALLIC SUBMERSION

Summary of the previous part: The Gallic Rescue Army attempts a third assault.

But this time, the besieged Gauls of Alesia, led by Vercingetorix, also attack from their side.

All the Roman fortifications are thus attacked simultaneously. So much so that the Romans struggle to defend the entire area.

Two columns are formed by the besieged to attack the inner ramparts of the Roman fortification, one led by Tombamus, the leader of Alesia, and the second led by Vercingetorix...

At the same time, Gauls from the Rescue Army manage to break down the outer gate of the main fortification and attempt to invade the rampart passageways.

It was Vercassivellaunus, Vercingetorix's cousin, who led the assault on the ramparts.

Julius Caesar himself came to supervise the maneuvers and witnessed the Gauls entering the fortifications.

He sent General Graccus to summon his Personal Guard to assist the Roman cohorts defending this key point of the Roman defense system, which, if it fell, would allow the besieged Gauls to escape...
