- Episode 3: THE FALL OF ALESIA -

 
This story is inspired by historical events that took place during the Gallic Wars between Julius Caesar and the leader of the Gallic Tribal Alliance, Vercingetorix.
 

 
Part 11 : NEW ATTEMPT

Summary of the previous part: In mid-August, the Roman General Titus Labienus arrived with his four Roman Legions from northern Gaul at the Roman fortifications of Alesia to reinforce Julius Caesar's troops already present, a total of 14 Legions. In early September, the Gallic Rescue Army arrived on the outskirts of Alesia. 
 
Vercassivellaunos, one of the Gallic leaders present in this rescue army, was none other than Vercingetorix's cousin. 
 
Barely had they arrived when the Gallic leaders and the Gallic Cavalry launched an initial attack on the Roman fortifications. 
 
But they were repelled by the Roman Cavalry, as well as by the Roman archers from the top of the ramparts. The terrain is also very narrow for horsemen... 
 
However, the roar of the fighting made the besieged understand that the Gallic Rescue Army had arrived...
