In historical facts: The Gauls were victorious at the final Battle of Gergovia, despite losses that are unknown but nonetheless considered low and inferior to those of the Romans and their allies.
Julius Caesar, for his part, admitted losses of approximately 700 legionaries accompanied by 46 centurions.
However, these figures are probably false, as Caesar wanted to hide the extent of the disaster that forced him to flee Arverni territory in order to maintain the confidence of the Senate.
Furthermore, he also omits the losses of his Aeduan allies, of whom more than 1,000 probably perished under the dual impact of the Arverni and the Romans, mistaking their adversaries.
Julius Caesar decided to leave the area, pretending that he was leaving to support General Labienus in his battles and made no mention of the fact that he had faced a bitter defeat.
