Summary of the previous part: As Pompey's cavalry, more powerful and numerous than Julius Caesar's, prepares to charge towards them, Caesar's cavalry moves to the right, revealing a fourth line that observers from Pompey's army had not seen forming...
This fourth line includes a wall of lances, trumpeters, and archers.
Pompey's cavalry, which arrives at full gallop, struggles to avoid this obstacle...
The trumpets make a very loud noise that frightens the horses of Pompey's cavalry, and Caesar's archers kill or wound many cavalrymen.
Faced with the confusion, the centurion commanding this cavalry decides to retreat...
Meanwhile, Julius Caesar's cavalry, which has reformed, counterattacks, pursuing the fleeing cavalrymen.
Pompey cannot use his SCORPIONS to fire arrows at Caesar's cavalry because they might hit his soldiers, and decides to advance his TRIPLEX ACIES...
Julius Caesar does the same...
