The Battle of Pharsalus 

 

This story is inspired by the true events that took place during the struggle between Julius Caesar and Pompey.

Part 3: FIRST SURPRISE

Summary of the previous part: Julius Caesar has arrived with his troops and has observed the positions of Pompey's army. 

He creates a mirror effect by positioning his forces in the same manner. 

But Caesar knows that Pompey's cavalry is more powerful. 

He advances his first three lines to a certain limit, where Pompey's war machines cannot reach them. Faced with this maneuver, Pompey decides to send his cavalry to face Caesar's to decimate it and take Caesar's lines from behind. 

As Pompey's cavalry arrives in front of Caesar's, the latter turns to the right... 

Pompey's cavalry, which arrives at full gallop, does not have time to brake to pursue them...
