This story is inspired by real events that took place
in the struggle between Julius Caesar and Pompey,
as well as Caesar's encounter with Cleopatra.
PART 6 : The IZBAT OASIS
Summary of the previous part: Julius Caesar, whether out of pity, political calculation, or both, is overcome with grief and offers a funeral to his deceased enemy, Pompey.
Cleopatra, sister and wife of Pharaoh, informs him who plotted and killed Pompey.
Julius Caesar swears before the statue of the goddess Nemesis, goddess of vengeance, that he will punish all those responsible for Pompey's murder.
He knows that it was Pharaoh who ordered Pompey's assassination and takes advantage of this decision, because for Caesar it is a crime against Rome, and to avoid a war of revenge, Cleopatra must rule alongside him.
Pharaoh agrees and explains that he must replace his advisors to carry out the task. Julius Caesar gives him three months to do so…
* AGMEN: A Latin word meaning troop in general. It has a precise technical meaning in Roman military terminology. This
word designated a marching column, with a specific order of march: an
advance guard, followed by the allies, and then their baggage train.
The
first Legion with its soldiers in front, then its baggage train, then a
second Legion with the same configuration, and so on.
The cavalry moved because they were faster than the infantry. Sometimes
they marched behind the Legion to which they belonged, and sometimes
they were deployed on the flanks of the convoy, ready to defend the AGMEN.
