Summary of the previous part: Despite successfully destroying a Roman galley, the Norman ships stand no chance against Roman naval combat techniques.

One of their ships has been rammed, and the crew is in peril.

SOLVEÏG cannot save them because the armada is so large that his ship would be immediately attacked.

The speed, maneuverability, and lightness of the Norman ships are advantages as long as they have a sail.

And unfortunately for ULF, one of the Norman leaders, his ship's sail has been burned by scorpions, Roman projectile weapons.

He desperately tries to escape with the strength of his oarsmen from a pursuing Roman galley...

The "CROW", in Latin "Corvus," is a boarding system used by the Roman navy in naval battles. It is also called the "Corver of Dullius" after its designer, Caius Dullius, victor of the naval Battle of Mylae in 260 BC.

The "Crow" is a gangway with a small parapet on each side, equipped with pulleys and a mast that allows the gangway to be raised and lowered.

Beneath the gangway was a point shaped like a bird's beak, designed to pierce the deck of the opposing ship to secure the gangway between the galley and the vessel under attack.
