 This story is inspired by true events that took place during the Gallic Wars between Julius Caesar and the Gallic leader Vercingetorix.

Part 2 : CAESAR'S GIFT

Summary of the previous part: Julius Caesar learned that Vercingetorix had gathered Gallic forces at Gergovia.  

He decided to go there with several of his legions. 

Once he arrived at the Oppidum of Gergovia, Vercingetorix sent Caesar a gift: a rooster.  

This rooster represented what the Gauls were: combative, aggressive, spiteful, valiant, and proud. 

Caesar then invited Vercingetorix to meet him for a meal to thank him for this gift...
