Summary of the previous part: The Roman army launched an assault on the Gauls, creating triangular positions called CUNEUM FORMATE.  

The Gauls threw all their forces into these maneuvers, but they were disorganized because they weren't concentrating on a specific point of the Roman attacks... 

And a Roman reinforcement was about to enter the battle, potentially changing the course of the battle...

VENI, VIDI, VICI : I came, I saw, I conquered

 

The Roman Cavalry: Each Roman legion had its own cavalry, which consisted of over 300 horsemen.

It was often deployed on the flanks of battles, providing support to cohorts attacking enemy troops.
