 This story is inspired by real events that took place 

in the struggle between Julius Caesar and Pompey, 

as well as Caesar's encounter with Cleopatra.

PART 3 :  THE CEREMONY 

OF THE REVELATION OF HORUS

Summary of the previous part: Julius Caesar is in pursuit of Pompey. He has learned that Pompey has taken refuge in Alexandria with the young Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII. 

 

Caesar obtains an audience with the Pharaoh. 

 The Pharaoh confirms that Pompey is indeed there. He has a basket brought in, and inside is Pompey's head! 

 

Caesar is horrified by this act. The Pharaoh explains that he did it to please Caesar. 

 

Julius Caesar leaves the throne room without a word. Outside, he swears to his generals that he will find those responsible for this murder and avenge Pompey, even though he was his enemy. 

 

 A vizier joins Caesar and informs him that Ptolemy XIII would like him to attend a ceremony of the Revelation of Horus to apologize.  

Julius Caesar agrees.
