Summary of the previous part: Norman merchants, accompanied by SOLVEÏG, the wife of their leader Erik the Victorious, went ashore to meet a Roman merchant and his assistant who had sold them poor-quality wine. 

She expressed her dissatisfaction with the wine. 

The Roman merchant was shocked by her words. She immediately killed him to teach all other Roman merchants a lesson. 

SOLVEÏG told the Roman who had been with the merchant to spread the word. 

He immediately went to see the Roman General Cassius, who confirmed the events and ordered the woman and her companions to be found.
