- Episode 3: THE FALL OF ALESIA -

 

This story is inspired by historical events that took place during the Gallic Wars between Julius Caesar and the leader of the Gallic Tribal Alliance, Vercingetorix.

Part 6 : THE SECOND ASSAULT

Summary of the previous part: The Gauls in the Oppidum of Alesia understood that the Romans were building a wooden wall to enclose them.

 

  Immediately, Vercingetorix marched out with the Gallic infantry and cavalry to prevent the construction of this trap from being completed. 

 

 But the Romans created a human wall with their cohorts and repelled the Gallic assault. 

 

And the next day, the wall completely surrounded the Oppidum of Alesia. 

 

 Julius Caesar, fearing external reinforcements from the Gauls, ordered a second construction of fortifications to protect the wooden wall...
