Summary of the previous part: The Romans managed to get one of their siege towers to hit the wall of the city of Avaric.  

Immediately, the legionaries inside rushed the walls. But the Gallic archers were positioned all around and rained arrows on the legionaries emerging from the siege tower. 

Furthermore, thanks to one of their missile weapons, the Gauls managed to set the tower ablaze. 

Julius Caesar decided to retreat in the face of this setback. 

He met one of the military engineers who told him he had created a machine that could destroy the Gallic war machines. 

Julius Caesar asked him to assemble it...
